Who We Are

Gynocare Women’s and Fistula Hospital was founded in 2009 by Dr. Hillary Mabeya, following a tragic case involving a sexually assaulted infant. What began as an outpatient clinic evolved into a specialized fistula surgery center, officially launching on June 19, 2011.

Fistula care remains our core focus. With support from partner organizations, we provide free obstetric fistula surgeries and lead education efforts to raise awareness across Kenya.

Located in Eldoret along Uganda Road, opposite KPA, and accessible via Kahoya Road, the hospital serves as a referral center for over 10 million people—nearly half of whom are pastoralists across the North Rift region.

Gynocare has grown into a full-service hospital open to all patients, offering comprehensive care across a wide range of illnesses.
Our work in fistula care is supported by generous partners including Dr. Mabeya, One by One International, Fistula Foundation, Direct Relief, and ADRA Germany through Waldfriede Hospital.

Recognized by the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Gynocare is now Kenya’s first official fistula training center. We currently have 88 beds and expect to surpass 100 by April, with affordable ICU services available.
