His professional associations include: Kenya Medical Association (KMA), Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (KMPDB), Kenya Obstetrics and Gynecological Society (KOGS), and East, Central Southern Africa Obstetric and Gynecological Society (ECSAOGS).
Dr. Mabeya has provided numerous presentations on obstetric fistula in rural hospitals, HIV infected pregnant women, the social economic, and cultural determinants of obstetric fistula, and surgical outcomes for obstetric fistula.
He recently had a successful research outcomes on Cervical Cancer Screening for HIV-Seropositive Women giving rise to a HPV Vaccine in Belgium, a grant funded through AIDS International Training and Research Program, Fogarty AIDS International, and NIH. He is the Co-PI for an Emergency Obstetric and newborn care trial, a Global Network Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial.
Dr. Mabeya holds MBChB in Medicine and Surgery and a MMED in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of Nairobi. He is also certified in reproductive research by the World Health Organization(WHO) and served as a Fellow of HIV in Women at Brown University.
Dr. Mabeya is also a Certified Fistula Trainer by the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) in Kenya.
